🌅 Lent Is On The Horizon 👀 click to read important Msg from Fr. Miguel
Dear St. St. Charles Borromeo Family,
is just around the corner; this Sunday is a good day to think about our character as we approach this holy season. "Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?" Lk 6,40.
Am I prone to judge others, more likely to recognize others’ faults rather than my own? Jesus points out that when we overlook our own faults, not only are we ourselves left deficient, but our judgmental outlook distorts our view of others.
This Sunday, March 3rd, the Knight of Columbus will be having a fundraiser for the ACTS retreat for “
Men in Uniform,” for police officers and first respondents.
Call Officer Jesus Robles, HPD, for more information, 832-584-4671. They will be selling breakfast tacos, enchiladas potosinas and BBQ plates. Please stop by and help them with their mission. Free Coffee!
During the Lenten Season, every Friday, we will pray the
Stations of the Cross
at noon in English and at 8 pm in Spanish. Get
, on Ash Wednesday and every Friday during lent at our church parking lot, from 10 am to 8 pm. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Council #12818. For order to go call Manuel Cervantes, 832-250-5190.
This weekend is
DSF commitment weekend
. Last year we exceeded our parish goal of $75,000 for the annual
Diocesan Services Fund
(DSF). It makes me swell with pride as your pastor knowing that over 60 critical ministries were in-part funded throughout the Houston region because of the generous spirit of St. Charles Borromeo Church.
This weekend we will again focus on this important fund in our local community. I would invite you to
watch the 2019 DSF video below
and consider making a pledge or one time donation to support the ongoing and worthy efforts of the DSF ministries in Houston.
March 26, 27 and 28, (Tue, Wed and Thu)
, we will have our parish Lenten mission in English at 5 PM.
Deacon Kingsley Nwoko
will lead our
Lenten Mission with the title "The Power of the Blood of Jesus."
Deacon Kingsley will be ordained a priest on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 10 am at the Co-Cathedral and will celebrate his first Mass at St. Charles Church on Sunday, June 2, 2019.
My prayer is that this 2019 Lenten journey will transform us into faithful disciples of Jesus.
Yours In Christ,
Fr. Miguel Solorzano
